Veterans not forgotten by casinos

In a nod to America’s servicemen and servicewomen, this week places the focus on Veterans Day, because coming together is imperative in a time like this.

Several properties have Veterans Day promotions and some offer discounts on food and drink to active and retired service members. Here’s a list of some of the casino promotions for next Wednesday.

Boyd Gaming

All veterans will receive a free American flag on Veterans Day. Veterans and service members just need to show their military ID or DD 214.

The participating venues include Aliante, The Orleans, Gold Coast, Suncoast, Sam’s Town and Cannery.

Caesars Entertainment

Caesars Entertainment provides a year-round discount for up to 35% on hotels for active-military and veterans. The same group is also eligible for the Caesars Rewards Salute card. Salute card holders are automatically eligible for Platinum status.

Station Casinos

Station Casinos has a “Mystery Gift Day” planned for all military service members active, inactive or retired.

The Plaza

Veterans heading downtown can stop by for a free draft beer at any bar and a free cup of coffee at the Coffee Bar. The 10x monthly point multiplier will also be in effect, too.

Arizona Charlie’s

The Decatur and Boulder Highway locations have a special 10x and 5x Veterans Day Multiplier. True Rewards members get same-day bingo points and 5x multipliers on same-day video poker points at the Decatur location. An automatic 10x multiplier is applied to all same-day live table games points.

South Point

There’s a gift card promotion for the month of November, just as the holiday season approaches. “Half Price Gift Cards” are available for South Point Players earning $25 in slot points through Nov. 30. The $25 in slot points can be redeemed for a $50 Walmart or Amazon gift card. You have until Dec. 3 to redeem your points at the Club Booth. You are limited to 12 gift cards for the promotion.

The poker room recently added the “Good, Bad, Ugly” promotion, giving players three ways to hit the “Bad Beat” jackpot.

Starting with the “Good”: A jackpot is paid out when a player loses with Aces full of anything up to quad treys to any quads or better, with $599 going to the hand’s winner, $300 going to the loser and $100 to the players at the table.

The “Bad”: A jackpot starting at $20,000, which increases daily, is paid when a player loses with quad fours up to quad aces.

The “Ugly”: A jackpot starting at $50,000, with daily increases, is paid when a player loses with a straight flush to a bigger straight flush.

The “Bad” and “Ugly” jackpots will award 40% of the jackpot to the loser of the hand, 20% to the winner of the hand, and 40% will be split among the other players playing at the time the jackpot hits.

This Week’s Big Winners: A player hit for $ 43,621 while playing Rising Fortunes at Rampart. Last Friday, a Caesars Rewards member from California who was in town for a birthday party with a mega jackpot on Blazing 7’s at Bally’s Las Vegas for $251,404.
