The Frank Gall Memorial Stakes Preview and Free Betting Pick – Saturday, Sept. 19, 2020

The $50,000 Frank Gall Memorial Stakes will run as Race 8 on the Sept. 19 card at Charles Town.

The event for 3-year-olds and up will cover seven furlongs and include names like Penguin Power and Rush to the Castle among the field of five.

Here is a look at the top runners set for the Frank Gall Memorial Stakes.

Penguin Power, Rush to the Castle

One of the top entrants among the field is Davi Raim’s Penguin Power. The 5-year-old gelding from Fiber Sonde is trained by Jeff Runco.

He has a career record of 12-2-1 from 15 starts and earnings of $263,190. In 2020, he has two victories and one second from three outings.

Last time out, he took an Aug. 22 allowance race at Charles Town, which followed a victory in the May 30 Confucius Say Stakes (Black Type) at the track. The latter resulted in a 96 Speed Figure. The runner-up effort came in a March 21 allowance race there as well.

Penguin Power will break from post 1 under jockey Arnaldo Bocachica.

Another one of the top runners coming into the race is Taylor Mountain Farm’s Rush to the Castle. The 4-year-old gelding from Windsor Castle is trained by James Casey.

He is 7-1-3 from 11 career starts and has earnings of $133,939. His 2020 performances include four wins and one third from five outings.

Those victories included an April 16 allowance race at Mountaineer, where he registered a 96 Speed Figure, a May 21 allowance race at Charles Town, and two more allowance races at the track.

Rush to the Castle will break from post 3 under Antonio Lopez.

Runnin’toluvya

Another contender to keep an eye on is Grams Racing Stable’s Runnin’toluvya. The 6-year-old gelding from Fiber Sonde is trained by Timothy Grams.

He also finished fifth in the May 30 Confucius Say Stakes (Black Type), and his victory came in a March 21 allowance race, both taking place at the track.

Runnin’toluvya will break from post 4 under Christian Hiraldo.
