The Grade III, $100,000 Bold Ruler Handicap will run as Race 9 on the October 31st card at Belmont Park.
The event for 3-year-olds and up will cover seven furlongs and include names like Phat Man, Majestic Dunhill, Share the Ride, and Arch Cat among the impressive field of six.
Here is a look at the top runners set for the Bold Ruler Handicap.
Betting Preview: Phat Man, Majestic Dunhill
One of the leading runners coming into the race is Phat Man, owned by Two Rivers Racing Stable, Marianne Stribling, and J. Kent Sweezey. The 6-year-old gelding from Munnings is trained by J. Kent Sweezey as well.
He has a career record of 7-8-1 from 27 starts and earnings of $518,253. In 2020, he has one win and one second from two outings.
Last time out, he took second in the February 29th Gulfstream Park Mile Stakes (G2) at Gulfstream Park. The victory came back on January 25th in the Fred W. Hooper Stakes (G3) at the track. Both of those outings resulted in a 110 Speed Figure.
Phat Man will have to overcome the outside Post 6 under jockey Javier Castellano.
He will also be faced with R. A. Hill Stable’s Majestic Dunhill. The 5-year-old gelding from Majesticperfection is trained by George Weaver.
He is 4-4-4 from 20 career starts with earnings of $318,214. His 2020 runs include two seconds and one third from five outings.
His most recent performance was a runner-up effort in a September 25th allowance optional claiming race at Belmont Park, which followed a ninth-place run in the August 29th Forego S. Presented by America’s Best Racing (G1) at Saratoga.
Majestic Dunhill will break from Post 5 under rider Joel Rosario.

Also among the field is Silvino Ramirez’s Share the Ride. The 5-year-old gelding from Candy Ride is trained by Antonio Arriaga.
He is 6-2-4 from 17 career starts with earnings of $267,860. This year he has two wins, one second, and one third from six races.
He is coming off a third-place effort in the September 26th Vosburgh Stakes (G2) at Belmont Park, which followed a September 12th victory in the Mr. Prospector Stakes at Monmouth Park. The latter resulted in a 113 Speed Figure.
Share the Ride will break from Post 2 under Manuel Franco.
Another runner to look out for is Burns Thoroughbred Racing’s Arch Cat. The 6-year-old gelding from Arch is trained by Daniel Velazquez.
He has a career record of 13-3-12 from 27 starts with earnings of $363,485, making him one of the more experienced entrants. In 2020, he has two wins and two thirds from five outings.

The Bold Ruler could shape up to be a competitive race, given the impressive runners in the field. However, Share the Ride looks like a good choice.
His 2020 record is better than the other entrants, and he is coming off some high-profile stakes races, including the Mr. Prospector victory.
