After landing a full house of winners in La Liga on Wednesday, SlipsTips takes a look at the Bet Builder market ahead of Manchester United’s Europa league encounter with AC Milan.
Man United vs AC Milan (Thursday, 17:55)
Manchester United meet AC Milan in a mouth-watering Europa League last-16 first-leg tie at Old Trafford on Thursday night.
I’ve already penned a separate match preview for this heavyweight showdown which can be found here, but I’ve since identified a Bet Builder that makes appeal.
The wheels are starting to come off AC Milan’s Serie A title challenge and San Siro chief Stefano Pioli is now having to contend with an ever-growing injury list.
Milan, for all their attacking brilliance this season, have kept just one clean sheet in their last 10 Europa League outings and I suspect their cavalier approach could well be their undoing when they come up against a Manchester United team who tend to do their best work when playing on the counter-attack.
Celtic, Lille and Red Star Belgrade have all managed to score two or more goals in Europa League encounters with AC Milan this term and given that Man United will represent a serious upgrade on those aforementioned opponents, I’ll happily back the Red Devils to rack up two or more strikes on Thursday night.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side scored 2+ goals in 4/6 Champions League group-stage matches – a section that included PSG and RB Leipzig – and they demonstrated their attacking prowess when putting Real Sociedad to the sword in the previous round of the Europa League.
With that in mind, coupled with AC Milan’s lengthy absentee list, I’m happy to back the Old Trafford outfit to hit the back of the net at least twice here.
In order to nudge the price up on the Bet Builder, I’ll throw in over five match corners – both of these sides are averaging over five flag kicks per game in their domestic divisions and six or more corners combined doesn’t look like too much to ask for.
I’ll complete the Bet Builder with over zero AC Milan cards and over one match card – a combination that has clicked in each of the Rossoneri’s last four Europa League road trips.
What’s more, Slavko Vincic will take charge of this tussle and he is averaging four cautions per game on the European stage this season, not to mention the Slovenian whistler has flashed 12 cards across his last two European assignments.
- Over 1 Manchester United Goal, Over 5 Match Corners, Over 0 AC Milan Cards & Over 1 Match Card – Bet Builder – 1/1 (Bet 365)
