Poker players in some U.S. states have a lot to look forward to, as they are about to get another great online poker tournament. PokerStars NJ recently released a schedule for the upcoming online tournament called New Jersey Championship of Online Poker (also known as NJCOOP). New Jerseyan poker players will have an opportunity to participate in many exhilarating events and win lucrative prizes.
The event is expected to attract many of the top players from the area. It will start on October 10 and last for 16 days, with the grand finale taking place on October 26. Moreover, the event will feature a total of $1 million in guaranteed prizes, which will be distributed through 54 official events.
Popular Events That We Expect in 2020 NJCOOP
Every big poker festival has the Main Event, and the 2020 NJCOOP is no exception to the rule. The one event that all New Jersey players are looking forward to is the $300 No-Limit Hold’em Main Event, which will offer a total of $125,000 in guaranteed prizes. The event will start on Sunday, October 25, at 5:00 P.M. Eastern time.
The most successful player in this event will get to receive thousands of dollars in prizes, as well as the trophy of winning the Main Event of the 2020 NJCOOP.
The tournament will also offer the smaller version of the Main Event, dubbed Mini Main Event. It will require a $50 buy-in and will offer a total of $25,000 in guaranteed prizes.
But there will also be more than 50 additional events, where players will have an opportunity to play many kinds of poker. Truth be told, hold’em events will almost certainly outnumber other forms in terms of entrants, and not just because the majority of events will have that format. However, pot-limit Omaha will also be offered, as well as a $500 six-max high roller.
Players will also have a chance to try some of the more unique poker variants, such as the ones in the $100 Pot-Limit Badugi, $100 H.O.R.S.E, and $100 5-Card PLO.
Like always, there will be opportunities to win freeroll tickets for some of the events that’ll be part of the 2020 NJCOOP.
More Players Expected
The coronavirus pandemic is still very active, and there aren’t many land-based options for poker players. Although many poker rooms opened their doors, big tournaments are still prohibited, which helps minimize the spread of COVID-19.
Many players who like to visit land-based properties to play poker are left with no other option but to enjoy their favorite card game on the web. Luckily, many online poker sites foresaw the considerable increase in demand, resulting in many online poker events, including the 2020 NJCOOP.
Apart from PokerStars, many other platforms offer lucrative tournaments that provide thousands of dollars in guaranteed prizes. Some of these platforms are 888poker, Americas Cardroom, BetOnline Poker, Intertops Poker, Ignition Poker, and more. Make sure to check out these platforms if you’re in the U.S. and interest in playing online poker.
