Rosa Maria Faulkner, 77, of Oak Ridge, passed away Thursday, Dec. 24, 2020, at her home.

She was born Jan. 21, 1943 in Catano, Puerto Rico, the daughter of Isidro Rodriguez and Maria Cristine Trinidad Rodriguez.

Rosa retired after 20 years from the U.S. Army, attaining the rank of Major. She also retired from the Oak Ridge School System, where she worked for 22 years as a teacher at Jefferson Middle School. Rosa was a member of Robertsville Baptist Church. She enjoyed bowling and playing Bingo.

She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Clarence Calvin Faulkner; sons Juan Faulkner and wife Amber and Brandon Faulkner, all of Oak Ridge; stepdaughter, Christine Kwasniake and husband Robert of Roque River, Ore., and their children Steven and Katy, whom she thought of as the daughter she never had. She is also survived by brother Johnny Rodriguez of Catano, Puerto Rico; sister Petrita Martinez of Wisconsin; and her two precious grandchildren, Sunny and Andy Faulkner.

The family will have a visitation on Monday, Jan. 4, from noon to 1 p.m. at Weatherford Mortuary. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2021, at 2 p.m. at the East Tennessee Veterans Cemetery, John Sevier Highway, Knoxville, with Pastor Brian Scott officiating. Military honors will be provided by the Tennessee National Guard Honors Team.
