The World Series is now a best-of-5 after Tampa Bay took Game 2 to even the series at 1. Game 3 goes Friday, at 8:11 pm EST, and will feature two of the most dominant pitchers of the postseason so far.

Walker Buehler will get the ball for the Dodgers, while Charlie Morton will toe the rubber for the Rays. The two have combined to allow just six runs in seven playoff starts, so it’s no wonder the total is currently sitting at just 7.5.

Morton in particular has been incredible this season, and isn’t getting the respect he deserves in the player props market.

Prop #1: Charlie Morton Over 5.5 Strikeouts

Morton hasn’t just been good in his playoff career, he’s been exceptional. He’s won seven straight postseason decisions, one shy of the all-time record, has posted a 0.70 ERA over five playoff starts as a member of the Rays.

His fastball velocity is up a full 2 MPH in October versus the regular season, and he’s generating one of the highest swinging strike rates of his career (12.1%).

The 36-year-old is averaging over a strikeout per inning (9.77 K/9), while the Dodgers have struck out 26 times through the series first two games.

Prop #2: Randy Arozarena Over 0.5 Runs

After a torrid start to the playoffs, Randy Arozarena has been quiet through the first two games of the World Series. Nevertheless, he still leads Tampa Bay in runs, hits, homers and total bases in the postseason, and is due for a breakout performance.

He’s reached base in nine straight games, and was on board three separate times in Game 2, but the Rays couldn’t bring him home.

As good as Buehler has been, he is prone to giving up home runs. The 26-year-old has allowed nine homers in 12 starts in 2020, while Arozarena is slugging .787 in October.

Prop #3: Rays Jump In Front Early

Tampa Bay jumped out to a 5-0 lead in Game 2, and with Morton on the mound in Game 3, I’m betting they’ll take control early once again.

Morton has a 0.57 ERA and 0.96 WHIP this month, despite facing heavyweights like the New York Yankees and Houston Astros twice. His career playoff ERA is 1.24 points lower than in the regular season (2.84 vs 4.08) and he clearly relishes the big stage.

Buehler meanwhile, has given up at least one run in the first four innings of three of his four playoff starts, and the top of the Rays lineup finally broke out on Wednesday.

Brandon Lowe snapped a mini-slump by belting two home runs, while Ji-Man Choi scored twice for the first time all postseason. The Tampa Bay lineup is fairly top heavy, and will need continued production from their top-five hitters for this prop to cash.
