NFL Betting Preview: Denver Broncos vs. Pittsburgh Steelers – Sunday, Sept. 20, 2020

The Denver Broncos will take on the Pittsburgh Steelers in week two NFL action. Denver and Pittsburgh are familiar with each other, having met each other 32 times. Denver leads the all-time series 20-11.

In their most recent contest against each other last December, Denver lost to Pittsburgh by a 24-17 margin. Now, Pittsburgh will look to take back a win.

Pittsburgh opens season the right way

Pittsburgh started their season off right on Monday, beating the Giants 26-16. A 13-point second quarter and a 10-point fourth-quarter led the Steelers to victory. Ben Roethlisberger had a great game, going 21-of-32 on the afternoon, while throwing for 229 yards and three touchdowns.

In addition to solid quarterback play, they also got production from the running game. Benny Snell Jr. carried the ball 19 times for 113 yards.

The receiving end of things was also strong for Pittsburgh. JuJu Smith-Schuster caught six passes for 69 yards and two touchdowns, while Diotae Johnson caught six passes for 57 yards, averaging 9.5 yards per reception.

Broncos Looking For First Win Of Season

In the meantime, the Broncos lost to the Tennessee Titans by a 16-14 score. In what was a close game, Drew Lock played well for the Broncos. he went 22-of-33 on the evening, throwing for a touchdown. Melvin Gordon also played well. He ran the ball 15 times for 78 yards and a touchdown.

On the receiving end of things for Denver, tight end Noah Fant recorded five catches for 81 yards and a touchdown. Nevertheless, it was not enough to overcome the Titans.

Free Betting Pick

I would feel comfortable taking the Pittsburgh Steelers in this matchup. Roethlisberger and Smith-Schuster looked to have a strong connection. I would expect them to continue to play at a high level on Sunday. Between the rushing attack that Pittsburgh presents, and the receiving attack that they can achieve, Denver does not have enough firepower to stop it.

There were some encouraging signs for the Broncos on Monday, specifically the running game. The play of Jeudy was particularly encouraging. If the Broncos want to have a shot at winning this game, they need to go back to what worked on Monday.
