As we look ahead to the second half of the season, we wonder where some dark horse team might emerge. Much of it depends on the schedule, while some of it also depends on teams staying healthy through the remaining weeks of the regular season. Given the amount of injuries that we have seen to key players this season, no team is taking anything for granted. We have also just seen the end of trade deadline, with a few teams making moves that might just give them a little nudge in the right direction. There is still a lot of football to be played between now and the end of the season, so expect the standings and power rankings to change on a weekly basis. For now, let’s focus all our attention on our ATS picks for Week 9 of the 2020 season so you can place your bets against their NFL odds.
Week 9 ATS Picks for the 2020 Season | NFL Betting
Green Bay Packers (-6) at San Francisco 49ers
The Green Bay Packers started this season on fire, winning their opening 4 games and putting on an offensive show that had a lot of people talking about them as a legitimate Super Bowl contender. With 2 losses in their last 3 games, that talk has cooled off a little, but this is still a very dangerous team that needs to be considered a threat in the NFC. The San Francisco 49ers are at 4-4 right now and in real danger of missing the playoffs the season after going to the Super Bowl. In fairness to the 49ers, their record is good when you consider just how badly they have been bitten by the injury bug. Traditionally, the Packers have had trouble covering against the Niners, going 1-6-1 ATS in the last 8 meetings, but they are 5-2 ATS this season and going against a team that is limping into Week 9.
Baltimore Ravens (-3) at Indianapolis Colts
The Baltimore Ravens won the AFC North in a canter last season, but a repeat looks much less likely after a loss to the unbeaten Pittsburgh Steelers last weekend. The Raven are still 5-2 and look to be a playoff lock, but they will need to show that they can bounce back quickly this week. It’s not going to be easy, though, as they will be on the road to an Indianapolis Colts team that looks to be rounding into form with Phillip Rivers at the helm. Both of these teams can put up points, but I have a feeling that this one is going to be a little tighter. Baltimore has won 9 straight road games, which is a plus, but they are also just 1-10 ATS in their last 11 meetings with the Colts. This could well be a push, but I think the Ravens manage to cover, albeit barely.
Pittsburgh Steelers (-13 ½) at Dallas Cowboys
Here we are at Week 9 of the season already, with just one team able to make it through the first half totally unscathed. The Steelers come into this game at 7-0 after a rousing come from behind win against the Baltimore Ravens last weekend. The Dallas Cowboys, meanwhile, come limping into this game with a 3rd string quarterback and a team that already looks as though they have given up on the season. Expect this amazing Pittsburgh defense to feast on the Dallas QB, creating turnovers that could send this game out of hand very early on. The Steelers have now covered in 5 straight games, and I like them to go out and make it 6 on Sunday.
