Both teams will be looking to rebound after poor showings last week. The Panthers failed on a two-point conversion and lost their second in a row, losing to Boston College 31-30.
Miami was handled easily by #1 Clemson 42-17. The Hurricanes defense is looking like it is going to be an issue as the Tigers absolutely shredded the Miami secondary.
Panthers Two Points From Being Undefeated
College football is not horseshoes but Pittsburgh is only two points from being undefeated. Pittsburgh’s two losses to Boston College and North Carolina State have come by a combined two points.
Quarterback Kenny Pickett injured his ankle last week and is questionable. He is leading the nation in passing yards. Pickett has completed 108-of-180 passes for 1,389 yards with eight touchdowns and three interceptions.
Pittsburgh’s defense, which was looking like one of the best in the nation after three games, has regressed a bit. Giving up 30 points to a less than stellar Boston College team doesn’t bode well for facing D’Eriq King. The Panthers are still holding their opponents to under 20 points a game.
Miami Still Has a Shot at the ACC Crown
While losing to Clemson eliminated any real chance at the national championship, an ACC title is still in play. Clemson still has to play at Notre Dame and Virginia Tech, so anything could happen if the Hurricanes win out.
King, who was a sleeper contender for the Heisman Trophy, is probably out of that race but is still having a really nice year. He has completed 75-of-122 passes for 857 yards with six touchdowns and two interceptions. He has also rushed for 241 yards and two touchdowns.
The Miami defense looked lost at times against Clemson. Granted, everyone looks a little lost against the Tigers high powered offense, but Miami’s defense is giving up over 420 yards of total offense per game. Look for Pickett, if healthy, to have a big yardage day.
Miami vs. Pitt Betting Lines
Mybookie has Miami as 13.5-point favorites. The total is set at 47.5 points.

Even if Pickett is injured I think this number is way too big. Pitt should cover and I also like the over in this one. Both teams should be able to put up 21 plus points.
