NBA Betting Preview: New York Knicks vs. Miami Heat – Sunday, Feb. 7, 2021

A Sunday slate of NBA games is one of the best treats you can have. Stars will be out on this first weekend in February and we have a great Eastern Conference matchup headed your way.

The Miami Heat will travel up the coast to take on the New York Knicks .

Before the season started, you might have thought these two teams would be flipped in the standings.

The Heat have been ravaged by COVID and injuries, so they have to start stringing together some victories in order to turn their season around.

This New York team is much better than we could have imagined, and might be contending for a playoff spot.

With how good these two teams can be, it’s important we break down the matchup for you to place your best bet on it.

Miami Heat Betting Preview: A Different Team Than Last Year

While last year’s Heat team made it to the NBA Finals, this year’s team is missing some of the role players that were prominent in last year’s run.

They lost Jae Crowder in free agency, and now Meyers Leonard is out for the rest of the year with a shoulder injury.

Jimmy Butler has been missing most of the season, and he popped up on the injury report again with a foot injury but now he is probable to play in this game.

Between Butler and Bam Adebayo, Miami has two of the top 25 players in the league. Their roster just needs to be healthy and come together so they can experience success.

New York Knicks Betting Preview: The Story of Julius Randle

What a story for New York fans this season. The Knicks have found a way to be relevant and actually make some noise in the Eastern Conference.

It’s been years since we have seen any bright spots for this Knicks franchise, and now they have a budding all-star in Julius Randle.

Something about Randle is different this year, and his shooting is much improved. His biggest weakness was not being able to play out of the paint, but this year he changed that.

His overall field goal percentage has taken a step back, but now he is shooting upwards of 40% from beyond the arc and has to be guarded everywhere on the court.

Miami has the necessary players to stop him, but they are going to have their hands full trying to contain his game.

Heat @ Knicks Betting Odds and Lines

Coming into this game, MyBookie has the Heat favored on the road by a clip of 5.5 points.

While the Knicks have only been .500 at home, the Heat are a measly 2-7 on the road. That record does not bode well for Miami.

Free Betting Pick

While going up the coast doesn’t seem like a great recipe for success, I like the Heat in this game.

If Jimmy Butler gets ruled out for some reason I would stay away from Miami, but with him playing I am taking the Heat.
