NASCAR Betting Analysis for September 17th & 18th Races

When we talk about NASACR, it is usually the Cup Series that gets all the attention. That is probably fair, as that is what most fans are interested in, but we also try our best to cover what is going on in the Xfinity Series and the Truck Series. Both of those are heading closer and closer to their playoffs, so the action is really beginning to heat up. We will absolutely talk about the Cup Series in another separate piece this week, but for now, let’s focus on the other two. This weekend, NASCAR is in Bristol. The Truck Series will get the ball rolling on Thursday with the UNOH 200 in the Truck Series. The Xfinity Series will go on Friday with the Food City 300. Let’s take a closer look at both races so you can put your bets against their NASCAR odds.

2020 NASCAR Betting for the Week (September 17th-18th)

Truck Series UNOH 200 – Thursday at 7:30 PM EST

The Truck Series playoffs begin on Thursday with the Round of 10, which will run for 3 races before the field is reduced to 8. The battle for the championship is likely to go down to the wire, as the standings are about as tight as it gets.

Grant Enfinger got himself right back in the hunt with a win last week, a victory that puts him at #4 in the driver standings. He is just off the pace being set by Austin Hill and Zane Smith, but they are all chasing Sheldon Creed, who leads the pack and has been perhaps the hottest driver over the last month or so.

At the bottom of the 10, Tyler Ankrum and Todd Gilliland need points this weekend if they are to avoid the cut in a few weeks.

Xfinity Series Food City 300 – Friday at 7 PM EST

Friday night represents the final race of the regular season in the Xfinity Series, with the top 12 drivers all set to move on to the playoffs. The final 12 looks to be set in stone, but this race is all about getting a leg up and going into the playoffs with some momentum.

The man with all the momentum right now is Justin Allgaier, as he is coming off a pair of wins at Richmond last weekend, which moved him into 3rd in the driver standings. Allgaier is +300 at Bristol this weekend, where he has yet to win, although he has been in the top 10 in each of his last 4 starts there.

Chase Briscoe is sitting in 2nd despite having the most wins (6) in the regular season. Briscoe is on the board at +450 this weekend. He has finished 2nd at Bristol in each of his last 2 starts there, so this is a very tempting bet at a good piece.

Sitting at the top of the driver standings in the Xfinity Series is Austin Cindric, who has been ridiculously consistent all season long, landing in the top 10 in 20 of the 25 races this year. His best finish at Bristol is 5th, yet the bookies still have him in as the favorite at odds of +300.
