Not mega as in massive. Although to be fair, their live games lineup is now substantial (especially for a newish kid on the block). Mega as in the name they’ve given to their random multiplier games.
First there was Mega Sicbo. Then Mega Wheel,
Actually, technically first their was Mega Ball. But that’s a title from Evolution.
What is Mega Roulette?
In the game’s about/info section, the opening line describes Mega Roulette as, “a game like no other”.
- Payouts for straight up bets are 29:1 (rather than the regular 35:1), but
- After bets close, up to 5 numbers are randomly chosen to have increased payouts applied, up to the maximum 499:1 (or 500x your bet amount)
Payouts applying to all other bets are unchanged.
Let’s run through the concept quickly because it’s not new. We’ve pretty much seen it all before, despite claims to the contrary.
Playing Mega Roulette
Place your bets as you would on any live roulette table. Directly on the table, or via the race track provided for neighbours.
Once bets close, 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5 Mega numbers will be chosen. Three seemed to be the most common from the few rounds played so far.
The Mega numbers and the payouts applying to each are then revealed. Here we have a max payout of 500x applying to number 14.
Limits and payouts (note the straight-up 29:1 base case) are readily at hand via a top-left drop down.
This will depend on the bets you place. Stick with the unchanged payout bets (all bets other than Straight-up), and your return mirrors regular European Roulette: 97.3%.
But if you are betting straight up the theoretical return drops to 96.5%.
Chasing big payouts is an expensive exercise!
Mega Roulette is hosted by a live dealer (or rather presenter). But they don’t go near the wheel.
As for Lightning and Quantum Roulette, wheel spin and ball launch are completely automated.
With this version, it has to be said that the ball track and drop seems very different to what you’d see with a a physical wheel and ball. You’d be forgiven for thinking they’ve integrated an RNG setup in there (ala Playtech’s original Spin a Win wheel). Hopefully this is not the case.
Oh, and spin frequency is high, so you don’t have long to wait between betting rounds.
