- Marseille have only won one of their last seven games.
- L’OM have failed to score more than one goal in six of their last seven matches.
- Under 2.5 goals have been scored in each of Lens’ last two fixtures.
Struggling pair set for Velodrome stalemate
After a positive start to the season, Marseille appear to have hit a wall of late, as they have won just one of their last seven matches across all competitions.
L’OM have also failed to score more than once in six of those seven games and they have picked up just one point and netted one goal from their two most recent league fixtures against struggling Dijon and Nimes.
Lens’ form is not much better, as they have won just one of their last five games, losing three times during that sequence.
Franck Haise’s side have also seen each of their last two games yield under 2.5 goals, while they have only netted one goal from their last four meetings with Marseille.
Indeed, Marseille are unbeaten in their last six games against Lens, winning each of the previous four, but given the poor form of both sides, it is difficult to see either club coming out on top on Wednesday.
It certainly does not look like being a classic and we are predicting under 2.5 goals in the match, with our prediction of a 0-0 scoreline reflecting both teams’ struggles for wins and goals over recent weeks.
