Agreement also includes Liga de Expansion streaming rights.
- Liga MX, Copa MX and Liga MX Femenil covered in contract
- Genius to deliver live match data feeds to global sportsbooks
- Partnership will also work to identify suspicious betting activity
Liga MX, Mexico’s elite soccer body, has appointed technology specialist Genius Sports as the exclusive live data and integrity partner for its top club competitions.
Under the terms of the deal, Genius will deliver live data feeds to global sportsbooks from games across the men’s Liga MX top flight, Liga de Expansion second division, and Copa MX, as well as the women’s Liga MX Femenil.
Furthermore, the long-term partnership will also provide sportsbook operators with low-latency streams from every Liga de Expansion game to help boost exposure of Mexican soccer’s second-tier club competition.
Genius will also leverage its Bet Monitoring System to help safeguard Mexican soccer from the threats of match-fixing and betting-related corruption by cross-referencing odds movements among sportsbooks to identify suspicious activity.
“Our league grows in every aspect, development, innovation and the expansion of our international profile are our fundamental pillars,” said Liga MX executive president Enrique Bonilla. “This alliance with Genius Sports Group will help us reach, through data, more fans around the world.
“It is important to highlight that Genius Sports Group’s integrity program will provide real-time alerts for betting-related issues, which strengthens our commitment to transparency.”
Genius also holds similar integrity partnerships with English soccer’s Premier League top flight, the German Football Association (DFL), and the Argentine Football Association (AFA). The latter, signed earlier this month, is reportedly worth in the ‘single digital millions’.
