Las Vegas Bets Big On Raiders Fans With New Raiders Tavern And Grill

“Wait till next year!” was the perpetual rallying cry of Brooklyn Dodgers fans. (Brooklyn, as any Raiders fan can tell you, is where Raiders icon Al Davis grew up.)

While 2020 was a disaster for Las Vegas due to COVID-19, the city and its new football team, the Raiders, won’t wait till next year to make a comeback. The official team hotel of the Raiders, M Resort Spa Casino, is launching a Raiders-themed restaurant sure to be a new home away from home for NFL fans—-and a shot in the arm for the city.

Raiders Tavern & Grill will feature more than 3,400 square feet of dining space, as well as two bars, Raiders memorabilia and merchandise. The restaurant also promises more than 45 high-definition TVs for sports and entertainment viewing.

The Raiders played the 2020-2021 NFL season, their first in Las Vegas, in brand-new $2 billion Allegiant Stadium. But the expected tourism boost to Las Vegas from “Raider Nation” never materialized, as the team played the entire season without fans due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In solidarity, Raiders owner Mark Davis said he would not attend home games if fans could not.

Fans may start to arrive when the Raiders Tavern & Grill opens by the end of March, 2021. The restaurant looks like it will contain considerable amounts of Raiders memorabilia to appeal to the team’s international fan base. Perhaps it will include a nod to the Raiders latest Hall of Famer, Tom Flores, one of just two men to win NFL championships as a player, assistant coach, and head coach.

The Raiders tavern will serve a wide variety of drinks, appetizers, and main courses, including “stadium food items.” Patrons can enjoy homemade barbecue and pastas and southwestern options such as street tacos. Entrees will include seared salmon, wood-fired pizzas, braised short rib, steamed crab legs and pork chops. Diners can also build their own burger, get a sandwich or snack, or enjoy lighter fare like soups and salads. No “Stabler Snake Sandwich” or “Biletnikoff Burger” has been promised, though—at least not yet.

Fans can choose specialty drinks from the Remy Martin Bar or draft beers from the Modulo Bar. Drinkers can also select from a tequila and whiskey list, and those with a sweet tooth can try an ice cream cocktail.

And because the city is a gambling mecca, when the Raiders Tavern & Grill opens, fans of the Silver & Black can pick up special edition Raiders-M Resort mychoice player cards (a loyalty program that tracks your gambling spending.)

M Resort has licensed the name from the Raiders and will operate the Raiders Tavern & Grill independently. The M Resort and the upcoming Raiders Tavern & Grill is just 2.5 from Raiders headquarters in Henderson, so fans might potentially even catch a Raider or two at the bar.

“The M Resort has been a great environment for the players, coaches, alumni and staff, so when discussion began to lend our name to a restaurant, it just made sense to look right here,” said Raiders President Marc Badain. “With the launch of the Raiders Tavern & Grill, fans and the public at large will be immersed in the Silver & Black experience through décor and memorabilia while enjoying great food, drinks and service.”
