DETROIT – Michigan sports bettors can now access another online sportsbook through Four Winds Casinos. The Pokagon Band of Potawatomi Indians run operation officially launched online gambling and sports betting in MI.
The Michigan Gaming Control Board granted authorization to Four Winds to offer online gaming, making it the 11th operation to offer both online gambling and online sports betting in the Great Lakes State.
The newly launched Michigan sports betting market is continuously growing, adding new online sportsbooks constantly.
Four Winds Mobile Betting
The Four Winds Casinos will be offering their full legal sports betting operation on mobile devices for all Michigan Players.
The odds are powered by Four Winds and can be accessed anywhere in the state. Betting lines will be available for football, basketball, baseball, hockey, and more and are available through the Four Winds New Buffalo, Four Winds Hartford, and Four Winds Dowagiac.
“We welcome the addition of Four Winds Casinos and Pala Interactive to Michigan’s growing online gaming and sports wagering market,” said Richard S. Kalm, executive director of the Michigan Gaming Control Board. “Their participation will generate revenue to support education, economic development and the Pokagon Band’s tribal community.”
Michigan is expected to see $90 million in tax revenue from online gambling and sports betting in its first year. The Four Winds Casino is gearing to be a major attraction for local sports betting fans.
While sports betting was voted into law back in December 2019, it took the losses caused by the COVID-19 pandemic as well as regulatory measures to finally push the Great Lakes State to launch the market.
Now legal sports betting is looking to be an important source of income for the state. Four Winds Casinos are among the early leaders in that department.
“COVID-19 has accelerated interest in providing online access and added convenience to customers across a variety of industries and gaming is no different,” said Matthew Wesaw, Tribal Council Chairman and CEO of the Pokagon Gaming Authority, “The Pokagon Gaming Authority and our Casino Operations Team have been planning for the approval of online gaming and sports betting for quite some time and we are very pleased that we can now offer this new and exciting entertainment experience to our guests.”
Online sports betting has proven to be the primary way players engage in sports betting in other markets. Four Winds Casinos is looking to cash in on that very same trend.
