- Dijon have won three of their last five games against Nimes in all competitions
- Both teams have scored in four of Nimes’ and three of Dijon’s last six matches
- Dijon beat Nimes 3-1 in December’s reverse league fixture
The Battle at the Bottom Expected to be Tight and Tense
Both Dijon and Nimes were knocked out of the Coupe de France in midweek, but that might not be such a bad thing as both clubs need to focus on staying in Ligue 1 this season. The two clubs both have 15pts on the board heading into Sunday’s clash and even a win for either side would not be enough to take them out of the relegation zone.
Dijon have had the better of their guests in recent seasons, winning three of the duo’s last five competitive and non-competitive matches. When the two sides locked horns in December for their reverse league fixture, Dijon ran out 3-1 winners. The form of both teams, as you would imagine, hasn’t been very good of late. Both teams have lost five of their last six matches in all competitions, so a win for either side on Sunday could prove huge in their bid to escape the drop.
Both teams have scored in four of Nimes’ last six matches as well as in three of Dijon’s last six outings, so we’re not expecting there to be a clean sheet for wither club this weekend.
We’re predicting both teams to score in this big game at the foot of the Ligue 1 table and have backed Dijon to pinch a 2-1 win. The hosts have already beaten their guests once this season and have the home advantage this time around. Nimes have conceded more goals than Dijon in recent weeks and this could prove their undoing on Sunday.
