Cork captain Patrick Horgan has spoken down against modifications to your guidelines of hurling that could see punishment that is express cynical fouls.
A rise in such tackles was noted in the 2020 Championship, with the Munster GAA secretary among those calling for the introduction of a ‘black card’ or a measure that is similar
However, Cork sharpshooter Horgan is adamant there is no presssing issue to be addressed.
“I think the game of hurling it didn’t have any cards at all I don’t think,” he said.
“We’re that I fell in love with years and years and years ago Trying to change too much, I think the game is absolutely perfect the real way it is. It’s exciting, it’s fast. These fouls that are cynical individuals are on about, you seldom see them, and so they probably level by themselves down during the period of the season anyhow.
“I’d hate to see certainly one of our players getting delivered down for this. Just about any group would hate to see their players getting delivered down for this. It is simply the real way the game is, and that’s the way it’s played.

There have been a few moments within the 2020 Hurling Championship which resulted in demands the development of a ‘black card’ as observed in Gaelic soccer
Turnover within the Cork squad
Whether or otherwise not you will see alterations in the rule-book, there will surely be a feel that is fresh the Cork hurling panel in 2021, after several big names have departed.
“It’s strange for me and especially for lads my age. They’re all really good friends of mine and we’ve all been tight over the full years,” Horgan outlined.
“But Sometimes it just comes to and final end and fellas say they’ve enough. I know the five or six fellas who’ve left were unbelievable players for Cork, but the way I’d look for them, there’s a new door open for younger players coming in or whoever.[Aidan]”Ten at it is that while that door has closed years back, they going to fill Seán Óg’s boots or lads like that?’
“But they took their chance when they were given the opportunity and I think the same will happen now if you said,
Nash is coming in or ‘Maccy’ (Stephen McDonnell) is coming in, or
Walsh,

Cork will likely to be without some home names in 2021
O’Grady returns
Meanwhile there’s been a addition that is notable Kieran Kingston’s backroom team in the off-season, as former All-Ireland winning boss Donal O’Grady joins to work on analysis and coaching.
Working with the ex-Cork and Limerick boss is a prospect which excites Horgan.
“I wouldn’t have worked with Donal or I wouldn’t have known him until this ” said the Glen Rovers man.(* year) O’Grady will likely to be hoping to raise the Rebels
“But looking on, whenever he had been throughout the Cork group from 2003-2005, he appears like a perfectionist, he previously all their players regarding the wavelength that is same playing to a really good system at the time.[Munster]”His knowledge of the game obviously, his brain that is hurling is exciting, to choose their mind about things. He knows whether you are a forward or a relative back, he understands the position in the field that you’re on, the speed of the game, and what’s expected. I think it’s very exciting, obviously we’ve had a chats that are few Zoom now, but actually anticipating getting chatting to him within the coming months face-to-face so we’ll see just what we could get free from it.”
‘The round-robin had been brilliant’
The 2021 Championship is defined to check out the 2020 structure, without any robins that are round the provinces. The group phase is a structure which Horgan prefers.

“I found the* that is( championship went over a month…you played a couple of weeks in a row then per week break, we thought that has been brilliant. You have got no right time to feel down. You could have done something differently, you don’t have to wait that long if you feel. It is six or 7 days and you will you will need to right the wrongs.
“As players all you want to do is play. You appear during the NFL period. They perform 16 days in a row with one break week. I’d love that with hurling, that you could just play weekly.
“It’s probably a sport where we over-train. We probably kill ourselves and don’t play enough games for the amount of training we do. The more games the better.”
Horgan celebrates a goal during the 2019 Munster Championship win over Limerick (*)However, with no training or matches, Horgan is enjoying his down-time by watching the NFL, enthralled by Tom Brady’s Super Bowl bid with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.(*)”I’m watching the NFL at the moment. I can’t wait he said.(*)”God for it to be Sunday every week, we have actuallyn’t also slept over this! I need to see him (Brady) winning it. It is simply, perhaps the method his teammates talk for a long time now.(*)”I’m about him, he’s obviously the ultimate teammate and I’ve been following him getting a bit of heat off a fellas that are few because i am a Patriots fan but i am after this fella! I cannot wait for match, it will be good one. But i believe they are going to do so alright. He is just a few actions in front of every person, most of the right time.”(*)
