Luzerne County Child Advocacy Center is conducting its “Sponsor A Pinwheel, Support A Child” program. Pinwheel sponsorships are $25. Pinwheels will be placed on the lawn of the Luzerne County Courthouse to raise awareness and funds to support children who are physically or sexually abused in Luzerne County. Nanticoke area

The bi-monthly bingo at West Side Playground, 389 W. Grand St., Nanticoke, will be held Tuesday, March 16. Doors open at 5:15 p.m. and games start at 6. The bingo will feature cash prizes and two magic numbers. Food, refreshments and door prizes will be available. Masks must be worn and social distancing will be observed. Transfiguration of Our Lord Ukrainian Catholic Church will begin holding spring flea markets in the church hall from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday March 13. The hall is located at 210 Center St. in the Hanover Section of Nanticoke. The sale will be held on three Saturdays, March 13, March 20 and March 27. A wide variety of items will be featured. Homemade pierogies and other foods will be available for takeout. A raffle will be held, with a 43-inch TV as first prize, a vacuum and second prize, and a coffee collection as third prize. Good Shepherd Polish National Catholic Church will be having a Good Friday fish fry, from noon to 7 p.m. April 2 at the church, 269 E. Main St. Plymouth The event is takeout only. There are no pre-orders. Menu consists of fried haddock dinner for $10.50, plus halushki by the quart for $10, red or white clam chowder, $10 per quart or $4 for a bowl, pierogi in onions and butter, $1 each, and potato pancakes, $1 each, limit 12 per person. Wilkes-Barre area

St. Nicholas Church will hold a drive-thru dinner from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, March 28, in the church parking lot, 226 S. Washington St., Wilkes-Barre. The dinner will feature potato pancakes, a classic Hispanic meal and empanadas.
