16.20 – tote Placepot Your First Bet Median Auction Maiden Stakes – 6f

CRANTOCK BAY hasn’t managed to visit the winner’s enclosure as of yet after 11 failed attempts and is comparatively exposed as a result. However, George Scott’s five–year-old looks to have been found a very good opportunity to gain a first career success. He’s certainly acquitted himself well in handicaps of late and has filled the runner-up spot on no less than seven separate occasions. This an uninspiring event, in which case he can break his maiden the maiden tag under top rider, Ben Curtis.

The bottom-weight SHECANDOO looks best of the rest and can take minor honours. She does, however, need to be forgiven for her poor effort last time out and has been operating at a fairly moderate level, but she seems to be going the right way and has an each-way squeak.

Selections: CRANTOCK BAY, SHECANDOO

16.55 – CCR Classified Stakes (Div 1) – 7f

There is the possibility TREPIDATION remains one step ahead of the handicapper judged on his last couple of assignments. He has really found his form in the past couple of weeks and was rather unfortunate to not add to his Wolverhampton success when conceding first run to the winner at Kempton eight days ago. This demands another personal best from a career-high mark, but he looks the one to beat from a good draw.

FACT OR FABLE heads the list of dangers and is a consistent type who should be thereabouts. In contrast to the market leader, he similarly arrives in rude health and is feared most on the back of a credible third to Trepidation earlier this month.

A case can also be made for KALIMOTXO, who failed to see out the extended one-mile at Kempton last time out. William Knight’s filly travelled noticeably well throughout the race to an extent and the drop back in trip is a wise move as it should enable her to have more of an impact.

Selections: TREPIDATION, FACT OR FABLE, KALIMOTXO

17.30 – CCR Classified Stakes (Div 2) – 7f

DEEDS NOT WORDS was unable to muster any sort of chance when only sixth in a minor event at this course just five days ago, but the fact that connections have booked Luke Morris to ride him again bodes well towards his claims. The handicapper has been quick to relent and the ten-year-old now finds himself 7Ib lower than when last successful.

IRISH TIMES is a C&D winner and arrives in decent form. Being 1Ib below his last winning mark and the positive jockey booking of Hayley Turner doing the steering, this six-year-old has to be taken seriously.

Selections: DEEDS NOT WORDS, IRISH TIMES

18.00 – Racing Welfare Novice Stakes – 1m2f

The highly-promising FATHER OF JAZZ got off the mark on yard debut at the end of last month in great style. He’s got a good work ethic about him and although he’s likely to be sent off at prohibitive odds, he is difficult to oppose under a penalty and earns the vote to follow up.

Selections: FATHER OF JAZZ

18.30 – tote.co.uk Free Streaming Every UK Race Handicap – 1m2f

GOLDEN CYGNET was left poorly placed when last seen, but looks set to leave that form behind and can get competitive here whilst on a workable mark.

PILOT WINGS has a quirky side to him, but on the flip side, can be recognised as being back on his last winning mark. He has hit the frame on several occasions from higher marks in the past and looks an each-way player.

Finally, RIVER SPRITE looks best of the remainder and a similar showing to when she was just touched off last time out would certainly see her involved at the business end of the race.

Selections: GOLDEN CYGNET, PILOT WINGS, RIVER SPRITE

19.00 – Injured Jockeys Fund Handicap – 7f

SEAS OF ELZAAM has C&D winning form and shaped encouragingly when fifth of nine at Newcastle a fortnight ago. In an ideal world, a much lower-draw would have been kinder but he shouldn’t be underestimated.

DUTCH DECOY possesses some fairly useful form and will find the drop back to seven-furlongs much more to his liking. His record on this surface is solid, so he looks poised to run well.

BRUNEL CHARM was a good fourth at Kempton last month and connections reach for the first-time blinkers which seems a wise move. From a 1Ib lower mark, he has to be taken seriously.

Selections: SEAS OF ELZAAM, DUTCH DECOY, BRUNEL CHARM
