Can I Bet on the Pointsbet Sportsbook App From Illinois

On July 16, PointsBet was issued their temporary gaming license in the Land of Lincoln, becoming the 4th online sportsbook to accept sports bets in Illinois through partner Hawthorne Race Course.

Pointsbet Enters Into Deal With NHL

Pointsbet recently announced a new multiyear strategic partnership with the NHL that will see more of its signage and odds mentioned during broadcasts. Those watching Blackhawks games in Illinois will be able to bet with Pointsbet.

The deal also provides PointsBet the ability to integrate the sportsbook operator’s content into live NHL game broadcasts across NHL media partners, including NBC Sports, NBC Sports Regional Networks, Altitude TV, and other potential future linear alignments.

No Pointsbet Outside of Illinois

You will still be able to bet with Pointsbet when on the road from the following US states: New Jersey, Iowa, Indiana, Colorado and Michigan. When in other states and needing to place that bet, do so at BetOnline here.

Your Teams

The Chicago Blackhawks pay 100-1 odds to win the 2021 Stanley Cup Championship.

From NBC Sports:

Selling high on veterans at the trade deadline, seeing some positive steps from young players, and landing a blue-chipper or three in the 2021 NHL Draft stands as the best-case scenario for the Blackhawks in 2020-21 and into the offseason.

Count the Blackhawks among those teams who could suffer if they are “too good” in 2020-21. Realistically, this roster won’t truly contend. They might be able to grind out enough wins to hover around the playoff bubble, though. If the Blackhawks hang in there, they might not sell at the trade deadline. They might mess up their draft lottery odds. If that happens, they’d largely be stuck in place, only with key players getting even older. Now that is a worst-case scenario.
