Camellia Bowl game odds: Opening line for Marshall vs. Buffalo

Why does the gift-opening process typically happen on Christmas morning? If I had to guess it’s because Santa Claus knew the good little boys and girls wanted to get that out of the way early so they have enough time to get ready for the Camellia Bowl. This year’s battle between the Marshall Thundering Herd and Buffalo Bulls kicks off on Friday, December 25th at 2:30 p.m. ET from Montgomery, Alabama. The game can be seen on ESPN or the WatchESPN app.

How they got here

It was an impressive season for Buffalo, but it didn’t end the way the Bulls had hoped. Head coach Lance Leipold should be getting a ton of interest at the Power 5 level after what he’s done with this program. In a six-game regular season, Buffalo finished 5-1 against pretty bad MAC competition before falling to Ball State in the conference title game on Saturday.

As for Marshall, it had a fairly similar end to its season. The Thundering Herd started 7-0 and climbed to No. 15 at one point in the rankings before losing their last two games, including last week’s Conference USA Championship against UAB.
