It wasn’t one of the one of the most memorable Dallas Cowboys vs. Philadelphia Eagles games. But its misery fit the theme of 2020 and the NFC East.
In a slog of a Sunday Night Football game, the Cowboys, with third string quarterback Ben DiNucci, led the Philadelphia Eagles 9-7 at halftime. The Birds were able to overcome four turnovers by Carson Wentz to win 23-9.
Bookmakers first put the Eagles as 7.5-favorites. However, by Friday most PA online sportsbooks had the Birds as 10.5-point favorites. During the first half of this sloppy game, it looked doubtful the Eagles would even muster ten points total. But the Cowboys showed little fight and the Eagles defense came up with a fumble recovery for a touchdown.
The Eagles’ performance might have been lackluster but the reaction on Twitter was ready for prime time.

Eagles win ugly
Philadelphia Phillies Hall of Fame third baseman Mike Schmidt once said, “Philadelphia is the only city where you can experience the thrill of victory and the agony of reading about it the next day.”
We won 23-9, it didn’t feel like it, this game was an absolute dumpster fire.
I’m glad we beat Dallas, but this team badly needs to figure shit out during the bye week and get healthy. If Howie’s gonna be making moves, they better be good, he’s not the most popular dude rn.

Doug Pederson is giving me Brett Brown vibes.
He better grip up Wentz, hold him accountable and tell him to get his SHIT together.

DiNucci makes starting debut
2020 seventh round pick Ben DiNucci made his first start with Dak Prescott out for the year and Andy Dalton still in concussion protocol. He finished with a better passer rating (64.6) than Wentz (61.2).
