
JOB TITLE: Assistant Golf Course Superintendent
DEPARTMENT: Golf Course / General Management
REPORTS TO: Golf Course Superintendent
SUPERVISES: Golf Course Grounds Personnel
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Participate in all aspects of golf course management.
Direct and participate in golf course maintenance.
Calibrate sprayers and fertilizer spreaders.
Apply fertilizers, plant protectants and plant growth regulators.
Assist with PGA, USGA and MGA sponsored tournaments.
Assist with operation of Toro LTC+ irrigation system.
Assist with planning and supervising maintenance activities.
Instruct staff on proper equipment care and operation.
Properly utilize various fertilizers and chemicals.
Assist with personnel management and evaluation.
Assist with ensuring a safe workplace.
Assist Superintendent with staff scheduling.
Maintain accurate records, and prepare clear, concise reports.
Efficiently utilize staff and equipment.
Oversee golf course projects.
Maintain effective relations with guests and staff.
Assist mechanic when necessary.
Serve in Superintendent’s capacity in their absence.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
2-year or 4-year Turf Management degree.
Previous supervisory experience in golf management.
Valid Minnesota driver’s license. (Applicants with an out-of-state license must obtain a Minnesota license within 30 days of hire.)
Minnesota Pesticide Applicator license, or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.

Working knowledge of maintenance of golf course tees, fairways and greens.

Regular attendance and punctuality.
Able and willing to work any changes in scheduled hours as required.
Serve as a credit to Jackpot Junction Casino Hotel, and encourage others to do the same.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Mobility inside and outside the facility.
Able to lift up to 70 pounds.
Able to drive a vehicle.
