AFC Divisional Round Betting Preview: Cleveland Browns vs. Kansas City Chiefs – Sunday, Jan. 17, 2021

To say it is a surprise that we have got to this point would be the understatement of the new year: Cleveland has won a playoff game!

The Cleveland Browns’ prize will be to go on the road into Arrowhead and take on the reigning Super Bowl Champ Kansas City Chiefs.

The Chiefs are fresh off their first-round bye and will be ready to rumble. This game won’t be like the Browns matchup against the Steelers, as the Chiefs will be able to score at will.

Two of the best offenses in the league going head-to-head will be sure to ignite some fireworks.

Some of the best passing in the league will be up against the best rushing so let’s break down the matchup and help you determine your best bets.

Cleveland Browns Betting Preview: The Power of Chubb and Hunt

While it wasn’t the biggest upset ever, the Browns might have produced the most surprising result of all six playoff games.

Before you could even blink, the Browns were up 14 to nothing. While the Steelers looked to have life in the second half, the Browns dominated from beginning to end.

Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt were an unstoppable one-two punch out of the backfield and tore up the Steelers’ defense.

At quarterback, Baker Mayfield played one of the best games of his career and was able to prove that he belongs in this league.

Against the Chiefs they should be able to score points, but keeping up with Patrick Mahomes and that offense will be their biggest challenge of the season.

Kansas CIty Chiefs Betting Preview: A Strange Momentum

It’s hard to see where the Chiefs are at this point in the year. They finished the year 14-2 and had the best record in the AFC.

For some reason, people are off them as the team to come out of the AFC. The Bills are everyone’s sleeper, but Mahomes is the reigning Super Bowl MVP.

They definitely lucked out with this matchup, as they were slated to play the red-hot Ravens instead of the Browns.

They will be able to score all over this Browns’ defense.

The Browns’ defense is the worst asset of their team, and the Chiefs have more offensive weapons than the Browns.

Both teams should bring us a show this weekend.

Browns @ Chiefs Betting Odds and Lines

Our friends over at JazzSports have the Chiefs opening as the favorites in this one at a whopping -10.

While this is a one against six matchup, the Chiefs being a double-digit favorite is a little bit of a surprise especially after the Browns just hung 49 on Pittsburgh.

While this line is a little too big for my liking, I think the Chiefs will have no problem flipping the switch and lighting the Browns up.

They will be hungry and eager to repeat as Super Bowl champions.

Take Kansas City in this one and don’t bet against Patrick Mahomes. He will carry this Kansas City team far.
